A.N.T.eaters workshops teach coping skills that research shows help combat Automatic Negative Thoughts (or A.N.T.s) as well as lower psychological distress and reduces risks for depression and anxiety.
Led BY middle-school and high-school age youth FOR middle-school and high-school age youth. Currently offered in the OKC area.
Our state’s youth mental health outcomes are at epidemic proportions. Substance use occurs more frequently among those with depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders. Substance use is a quick fix for mental health issues, and while better coping skills are available, if youth are never taught alternatives they don’t have the tools they need to stay substance-free.

What People Are Saying
-
As a parent, where my children have participated in a past event, I can honestly say they enjoyed the social interaction & the information they received from peers their age & just seeing the way they went home feeling validated & knowing they are not alone in the whole situation that revolves around mental health. Learning strategies on how to have the best outcome with situations they may come across is essential. Youth to youth teaching & learning is totally a new way of seeing things at their level. I would definitely recommend any young pre-teens/ teens to participate.
